It's as difficult as picking a favourite child, but if I had to showcase a few of my favourite moons to work on, they'd be these ones ...
ARI'S MOON:
Ari's mom, Shannon, commissioned this moon from Ari's birth date. I've only done two neon moons so far, and trust me when I say the photos do neon zero justice.
I love this phase so much that I used it in my logo (and as it happens, the phase from my birth date is this one too).
LUNA'S MOON:
This is the moon she ordered to gift her sister of her wedding date moon phase, and Sahiba requested it be in her sister's wedding colours; burgundy and golden yellow. We worked a lot on how the two colours would work, and decided on the illuminated sliver be yellow and keep the earthshine all burgundy. It looks so sharp.
I love how this moon turned out, and it wasn't without a bit of sorcery. Jenna commissioned this moon for her parent's wedding anniversary, of the date they got married. She asked that the moon be in their quintessential 70's marigold and dandelion wedding colours. Round one of this moon was looking very orange, which I wanted to avoid, so after some testing, I added green of all colours to dull and help darken the yellow without making it too orange or red.
Jenna has commissioned five moons from me, which just totally blows my mind and needs special mention.
You can watch a reel of me painting this moon here, and you can also purchase this moon as a moon sticker here.
KRIS AND JONES'S MOON:
This is Kris's wedding moon and the story behind it is pretty aspirational, as far as goth's go: Jones and Kris got married on Halloween in 2003. Their friend officiated the ceremony, whilst dressed as a fairy, and Kris's mother-in-law dressed as the devil. Talk about amazing.
This is also Kris's sixth moon she's ordered from me! I can't with these people. My heart.
You can watch a reel of me painting this moon here, and you can also purchase this moon as a moon sticker here.
I'm hoping to update this post regularly with my new favourite moons, so check back again to see more!
